WELCOME TO 2004 !!!
While we have been going thru quite a period of cold weather as of late, it’s not too early to begin brainstorming what you would like to do with your yard during 2004! In just 6 weeks the spring bulbs will be fighting for attention, and spring will be underway!

THERE’S STILL PLENTY OF TIME . . .

The winter season provides the perfect conditions for pruning trees and shrubs. We’ve been doing a lot of dormant structural and thinning pruning activities to our trees here at the nursery during the last several months. But, we also provide residential pruning services to our Customers as well.

If your trees and shrubs growth has gone on unattended for some years now, perhaps it’s time to take stock of the situation and let us help bring their “habit” back into line! Things like large, overgrown Lilacs, Yews, and Viburnums need not overwhelm their other green neighbors. Some of the fast growing Maples and Honeylocusts could use a little grooming as well. Call us now at 847-838-0501 to get on the schedule, before the spring buds start breaking!

POTTING IS UNDER WAY - SPRING IS GUARANTEED TO FOLLOW !

While it may be cold and blustery outside, inside the heated greenhouses here at Mill Creek Nursery things are popping up all over. That’s right - we’ve begun to pot up thousands of plants: perennials, annuals, and shrubs! The offering to our Customers this year will be more diverse, and larger than ever before!

With so many new selections available, you will be hard-pressed to not find something that you just have to have for that “special spot” in your yard. Many of the cold-hardy varieties will be available by the end of April, provided Mother Nature works along with us, of course. Check our Website for further details!

DESIGN SERVICES, WATER FEATURES, AQUATIC PLANTS & MORE !

Our landscape design office is already busy taking in new work for the spring/early summer season of 2004. Now is an excellent time to begin planning changes to your yard. By installing your new gardens early in the spring you’ll be able to enjoy them throughout the summer & fall. Give us a call at 847-855-0590!

Landscape lighting as well as natural stone walkways and patios complete the outdoor “landscape room” in your yard, adding to your enjoyment as you relax among your gardens. We are presently in our seventh year of designing and installing ponds, waterfalls, and water features for residential settings. Homeowners find our completed water projects add a very strong focal point in their landscapes.

For those of you who already have a water feature in your existing landscape, consider adding some aquatic plants to your pond. Mill Creek Nursery will be offering aquatic plants of different shapes, sizes and visual textures to enhance and finish off the look of your pond, beginning in early summer 2004.

TO TREE, OR NOT TO TREE . . . THERE IS NO QUESTION !

No yard is complete without SEVERAL trees - absolutely no question! This spring Mill Creek will have a large selection of shade, ornamental, and evergreen trees available for your selection. Trees provide the essential structure for a landscape, acting as the framework upon which the rest of a great landscape is built.

The shade trees we will be offering include:
